Lapwing

It’s alarm calls (did-you-do-it) can be heard at night. Dive-bombs the predator to protect it’s nest. Provides water to it’s chicks by soaking it’s belly feathers. Lays eggs on the ground.

Bush Quail

Seen in groups of 7-10. Flies off with a sudden flutter that may scare somebody.

Dove

Drinks water by using it’s bill like a straw. Call is a soft and somewhat mournful cooing.

Iora

A good songster, makes wide range of sweet long drawn musical whistles and calls. Often seen clinging sideways or upside down on branches.

Warbler

Eggs are greenish white with brown speckles. Most common song bird in United States of America. Known to get stuck in Orb spider webs.

Oriole

Annual migration from Europe to Asia. A common threat is a stork.

Treepie

Makes musical flute-like kok-ila. Participates in mixed hunting parties of birds. Nest is built by male & female both.
