A strange insectivorous plant From the Eastern coast of the United States With its trap open & ready Patiently it waits Its patience is soon rewarded A fly comes buzzing by, looking for something to eat The plant releases a fake scent of food The fly starts to eat the nectar inside, soon the jaws clamp shut in a heartbeat The fly must have touched one of the hairs inside the trap But now it can't come out, however it may try Those jaws have jammed shut The plant gets to work, using enzymes produced by special glands to digest the fly
