A large spider of the forests, this female may look slow, but is quick to pounce upon any prey that gets caught in its huge web.
It is about 14 cm (5.5 inches) in body length. And its webs are about 130 cm (4 feet) wide.

The larger spider is the female, and the smaller one (above) is the male. The much smaller male is usually at a constant risk of being eaten by the female spider.
